Experience And Accessibility

If you have been arrested, or you are about to be arrested, time is of the essence. With your liberty at stake, you don't want a general practice lawyer who on occasion dabbles in criminal law. Instead, you need an aggressive, dedicated criminal defense attorney to stand between you and the government. You need your attorney to be adept and trained to identify and implement the best strategy for you.

For more than 20 years, I have devoted my career to criminal law. I have a degree in Criminal Justice from LSU, and worked for some of the best Louisiana criminal defense attorneys throughout law school. Upon graduation in 1995, I served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Michael R. Erwin, a judge in the 19th Judicial District Criminal Court. I then served as a staff attorney for the East Baton Rouge Parish Office of Public Defender for 7 years, where I tried many felony jury trials (including death penalty) and handled thousands of cases.

Since 2002, I have headed the criminal division for Keogh Cox and Wilson, APLC., where I now serve of counsel. In 2005, the Louisiana Supreme Court appointed me to serve as Judge Ad Hoc in the Baton Rouge City Court, an honor I continue to fulfill when requested by the City Court Judges. I am a lifetime member of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (LACDL), present member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), and Past President of the Baton Rouge Bar of Criminal Justice.

I also bartended throughout college and law school, and co-owned two bars and a restaurant. Through these resources, I get many DWI and Drug referrals in the service industry.

I know an arrest and criminal prosecution can be stressful. Most people have no experience in criminal court, and the outcome is often uncertain and sometimes frightful. To ease this fear and facilitate the best resolution to a case, I offer each of my clients my private email and cell number, and encourage them to contact me at any time I am needed.
